Professional Development and Training Opportunities
Whether you're a center-based or family child care home professional,
you'll find a wealth of professional development and training opportunities
available to you-ranging from the business of child care to first aid,
challenging behaviors, developmentally appropriate practices, gentle
teaching, communicable diseases, building relationships with families
and much more.
These training courses will not only increase your knowledge and skills;
they can also lead to the professional credentials that will help you
further your child care career, earn more and, importantly, give the
children the best possible care.
Training Calendars and Updates
Below you'll find links to training calendars, which list the courses
available and note which courses qualify for the various early childhood
professional development credentials. There are calendars covering the
courses available for the current quarter, the next quarter (so you
can plan ahead) and a training updates section, which outlines any changes,
additions or deletions to the training calendars. Be sure to check these
updates since there are always last-minute changes.
The calendars are organized by county and indicate which courses are
available for center -based or family child care home providers and
which courses are appropriate for obtaining credit for continuing education
units, the Child Development Associate credential, Step Up to Quality,
the Early Learning Initiative or for county certification, Care for
Kids and Care for Kids Gold Seal home designations.
