Starting Point for Child Care and Early Education has received a Quality Assurance Seal from Child Care Aware, a national child care parent resource and voluntary certification program, and has been named a certified Child Care Aware Quality Assured Resource and Referral agency. The Quality Assurance Seal, which will soon appear on all Starting Point materials, ensures families that Starting Point has met national best practices standards, offers consistent high-quality services and is the best choice for obtaining information on child care availability, licensing laws, quality indicators, scholarships, subsidies and other parenting resources in Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga and Lake counties. "We are proud that the quality of our services has been affirmed with national Quality Assurance certification," noted Billie Osborne-Fears, Starting Point Executive Director. "Since we began in 1990, we have done our utmost to help families navigate the often confusing world of child care--whether they needed to locate convenient child care, choose the right child care option or obtain assistance for financial or other needs. National certification confirms the quality of our services and alerts parents that we always strive to give them the best possible child care information. As part of its mission to help give the youngest children in Northeast Ohio a good start in life, Starting Point offersfamilies a wealth of child care information through its Parent Hot Line at 216-575-0061 or 800-880-0791 and materials like the Good Child Care Book and Parents' Guide to Special Needs Child Care. In addition, the agency works to improve child care quality, supply, affordability, access and helps families and the community find solutions to child care problems and obtain information on child care topics and issues. The agency also offers educational opportunities, training and consultation to child care providers, enhancing the quality of the child care and early education they offer and helping children in their care to get the grounding they need to succeed in school and in life. Starting Point, a 501 (c) (3) agency located at 2000 East 9th Street, is a proud partner of Cuyahoga County's Invest in Children initiative. The agency can be reached by calling 216-575-0061 or 800-880-0791 or by logging onto its website at www.starting-point.org. Child Care Aware is a program of the National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies (NACCRRA) which operates a national hotline and website for child care and early education information (www.ChildCareAware.org) as well as the quality assurance program. |
